We established a comprehensive traffic monitoring infrastructure – combining heatmaps, session recordings, and on-site surveys – to analyze user interactions and uncover friction points along the purchase funnel. The focus was on understanding behavioral differences between users who abandoned checkout and those who visited product pages without adding products to the cart.
Our analysis revealed two main barriers affecting conversion performance:
- Perceived Product Value:
Users showed hesitation at the product page level, often comparing prices or leaving without adding items to the cart. The issue was directly linked to limited clarity around product benefits and value justification, resulting in a lower add-to-cart rate. - User Experience (UX) Gaps:
Friction was detected throughout the checkout process, including unnecessary form fields, unclear progress indicators, and lack of trust signals (such as payment method icons or security reassurance). These UX shortcomings increased drop-off rates during the final purchase steps.
Using these insights, we collaborated with the client’s internal teams to implement targeted website optimization initiatives – such as improving product value communication, streamlining checkout flows, and enhancing visual trust elements.
A pre/post measurement framework was also established to accurately evaluate the impact of these improvements on conversion rate and user flow efficiency.
